  • Rem’s always great for giving you suggestions and helping guide you, since we’re not experts in marketing at all.

Probably the motivation and the constant reminder that we’re going to get together every month and discuss our goals and what we accomplished, because otherwise I think it’s very easy to fall into the everyday lull of practicing. When you know that that’s out there and you’re going to be talking to other people about it, it motivates you to keep going and not give up on things so easily. And as always, Rem’s always great for giving you suggestions and helping guide you, since we’re not experts in marketing at all.

  • Working on the goals, attending the Summit, and the coaching calls with Rem. Those are probably the top three things that have motivated me and helped me to stay on task.

There are so many things that I could do in my practice, marketing-wise, that I just don’t have time to do. I think the thing that’s been most helpful is they [Top Practices’ Virtual Marketing Director Services] have been able to write content for me for my website and help me with a lot of the website information. I would not be able to do that by myself. The Best Benefit of Being a Top Practices Member It’s really helped me to set goals and to work to achieve those goals – actively work to achieve them, not just write them down and forget about them. It has helped me to focus on what I want for my practice and where I want it to go in the future. It’s helped me to organize my thoughts and to think of the practice more as a business, and also to help me think more of my patients and serving them rather than just having them as a number coming in and out. It has helped me to serve them and improve the quality of the care. The Top Things from Membership Working on the goals, attending the Summit, and the coaching calls with Rem. Those are probably the top three things that have motivated me and helped me to stay on task. When you have to talk to Rem - which is a great thing, that’s not a bad thing - if I’m slacking with my numbers and things that I know that I need to report to him, that keeps me going—that monthly phone call. If I were to give advice to anybody who was thinking about joining Top Practices, it’s that you can’t use them just once a year or once a month motivation. It’s not a cheerleading session. You need to be committed to running your practice and running your business, and use them as help and not depend on them to make you successful. You can’t just listen to the CDs in your car and not do anything about it. It’s a lot of work that you have to do on your own practice, on your own life, to be successful. This is something that helps you do that.

  • Not a day goes by when I don’t hear feedback from people who found us on the internet.

I don’t use Twitter or any of that. I just use Yelp for restaurant reviews. I just became more aware of the importance of my internet marketing over time. Because of our practice name, we usually come out on top in organic search in our area, but I discovered that for heel pain, a practice from four towns away was coming out on top. It irked me. I wanted to ‘hit it out of the park’ when it comes to internet searches. I had them [the Virtual Marketing Director Services team] do an evaluation of my website and social media and all that. They showed me where my weaknesses were and what would really need to change—and I saw the light. Really I thought it would be way more expensive to do everything they said I needed, with all the new content for my website and review sites and social media stuff. I was pleasantly surprised. Not a day goes by when I don’t hear feedback from people who found us on the internet. You know, you’ve gotta dig deep and really ask, well, how did you find me? For a lot of people, it’s that they liked my website or my Google reviews. I don’t really follow what everything is, I just hear about it, and it’s all positive.

  • They’re really a boost and it also helps me to connect with other doctors. Talking and getting to know other doctors has been a great network to get established.

"The Summits have been great, very helpful. Rem came to speak at our Oregon Podiatric Medical Association and I heard him a couple times talking about practice management. That sparked my interest to go to the first Summit, and that’s where I got more excited about working on my practice and getting involved. I really don’t want to miss those every year. They’re really a boost and it also helps me to connect with other doctors. Talking and getting to know other doctors has been a great network to get established.”

  • [The Summit] is the only meeting that’s not depressing.

“We’ve been in been in practice for 22 years. We attended a Top Practices meeting several years ago and we enjoyed it. But we didn’t really follow through with much at that time. We decided we needed something to really motivate us, so we decided to go to last year’s Top Practices Summit and really pay attention and see what we could take away and implement as much as we could.” “It’s the only meeting that’s not depressing. Everybody is upbeat—it’s true! I mean, a lot of podiatry meetings tend to…well, it’s the same old lectures you’ve heard 20 times, and the same people talking about how poorly insurance are reimbursing, and how they don’t have any free time. When you go to the Top Practices Summit, everybody’s happy, and everybody’s friendly, and everybody’s upbeat and trying to look at the positive side of practicing rather than all of the negatives. So that’s why we liked that meeting so much. We’re already signed up for this year’s.” The Breakout Sessions at the Top Practices Summit “I think that’s what started our motivation, those breakout sessions. Watching what other practices have accomplished from being in this. A lot of the people seem to have the same story. I think it’s nice to see people who’ve gone from point A to point B, and you know you’re at point A, so you know it’s possible.” “We’ve implemented some of those things. Most of the things that have increased our revenue to this point are tips that we picked up at the Summit from lecturers or Rem himself.”

Dr. Richard Schorr - Boynton Beach, FL
  • "After a year, I had achieved many of those goals which inspired me to invest more time and effort this year."

"The best part of Summit was having to do MY goals in detail with support and guidance.  Last year, I wrote my goals during the goal session.  It was quick and without much thought, but it had a profound effect on me.  I now had a target, a bullseye, and that was implanted in my brain.  It was on my mind regularly.  And after a year, I had achieved many of those goals which inspired me to invest more time and effort this year.  I am excited to see where I will be next year!" Walter Warren

"I loved the Goal Setting session – it gave me a “jump start” to my 12 week plan that I will implement.  I also loved CEO School – “we are only as good as the people we hire.”  He taught me that it is important to work ON your practice, not only IN the practice." • This conference has provided us the roadmap we needed to go places we want to go with our practice.

The Top Practices Summit was very motivating! This was the best money I have spent in 10 years. This conference has provided us the roadmap we needed to go places we want to go with our practice. I finally feel liberated in that I can get back control of our practice and take the direction we want to take it.

Meeta Pancholi, DPM - Hazelton, PA
  • "Asking what is the best thing about the Summit is like asking what’s the best part of an ice cream sundae! It’s too hard to pick because all the ingredients become better together."

"Asking what is the best thing about the Summit is like asking what’s the best part of an ice cream sundae!  It’s too hard to pick because all the ingredients become better together.  The speakers are motivating, being with my team away from the office is invigorating, and meeting up with like-minded people from all over the country who are excited about their futures…well, that’s just the cherry on top!  Thanks for another awesome Summit." Misty McNeill, DPM – Elmhurst, IL
