Three tips for health professionals to think and work like a CEO.

The first thing is you must have a Rainmaker Day—a day that you work on the business, not in the business. You can't be the owner of a company, the chef, and the bottle washer all at once. You need to actually have time to use your creative mind to bring together plans to grow your business.

So, you need to have one day a week—not five hours, three hours, two hours—one day a week, where you're totally becoming creative on how to grow your business.

The second thing is: CEOs should stand for Chief Experience Officer. Your job is to provide a wonderful experience for your patients and for your staff. And on your Rainmaker Day, you think about ways to actually provide these great experiences.

So remember, you're the Chief Experience Officer.

Now, the third thing is the 80/20 Pareto Principle. What are the 20% of the things that you do that bring you 80% of the income? And every six months, go through that list and cut the fat again—every six months—and work on the 20% that are bringing 80% of the income.

And just don't work on the little things that are not really being productive.

Do these three things. You'll think like a CEO. You'll have more money, more time, and in the meantime—have a great day.

Stay focused, my friends.
