Hi, it's Tina and this is your One Minute Management Tip.
Today I'm going to talk about those employees that sometimes have a disregard for company policies and procedures. You know, they just arrive a few minutes late, more often than not, and they don't quite follow the dress code every single day. And with your protocols and systems, they develop their own way that they like to do them. And they don't think anything is wrong with that. Well, there is.
First of all, they're losing respect from their coworkers and they are becoming a difficult person in the practice. And if it's not dealt with, you're going to have more problems in your practice. Because when one person doesn't have to follow the rules and everyone else does, what does that say? It's saying you really don't need to follow these rules.
So if you've got one of these people who's slacking off on the company policies and rules, you need to sit down and have a talk with them. You need to let them know that everyone has to follow the rules, but also let them know why. What is it when they don't follow the rules, that becomes either upsetting or a disregard for the leadership in the practice so that they can understand.
And you know what? If you're a member of the Virtual Practice Management Institute, you can find more information on Motivation in the Workplace and A is for Attitude that you can use these tools with the people in your practice. It's in module number 35. And if you have any questions, all you need to do is email me at [email protected] or Dr. Peter Wishnie at [email protected].
I hope you have a great day. Bye.
