Hi, it's Tina and I'm here with your One Minute Management Tip.
You know, not too long ago, I was talking with another office manager in my community. And after about five minutes of the conversation, it dawned on me that she hadn't said one positive thing. Now she complained about insurance companies, which we all do. She complained about her staff that she worked with, which, hey, we all have tough times in the office. She complained about the doctors. She complained about the regulations at the hospital. She didn't have anything positive to say. And I thought, boy, what do the people who've worked with her every day? How do they even do that?
You know, Brendon Burchard says that your mind listens to your mouth. What are you saying? Are you saying negative things because your mind is listening to it. And you know what? It's going to look for all those negative things. What do you do when you work with somebody who has gotten themselves into a negative place? Well, I can give you one really good tip. If you are talking with someone and they start going down that negative road, find something positive to say, even if it's like, wow, isn't it great that today the sun is shining? Or boy. isn't it great that all of us are healthy today or the flowers are blooming outside? Whatever, find something positive and say it. Interrupt that person with positive things. And if it's somebody who you really know, take an opportunity to talk to them about it and tell them that their minds thinking about whatever their mouth saying. And if it's always negative, their mind is going to continue to think negative things. And the same way we can reverse all that by saying positive things and thinking positive things, which is what we really need to do, especially during negative times.
If you have any questions, you can email me at [email protected] or Dr. Peter Wishnie at [email protected]. We'd be glad to talk to you. Take care and stay positive because your mind is listening to your mouth. Bye. Bye.
