Hi, it’s Tina. I’m here with your one-minute management tip. Today I’m gonna talk about excellence.
What is excellence when it comes to my job task, your job task, and your position? Excellence is not about being perfect. It’s about choosing to bring your best self to work each day. It’s the attitude of caring enough to go beyond, not just good enough.
When we aim for excellence, we take pride in the quality of our work. We look for ways that we can improve our systems, and we find satisfaction in knowing that what we do matters. It matters to our patients, it matters to our coworkers, and our practice. Excellence shows up in the small things we do, like being on time, double-checking details, noticing what needs to be done without being asked, and treating every interaction as an opportunity to make a positive impact.
It’s about owning your job instead of letting your job own you. Every workday is a chance to practice excellence, to prove to yourself that you are capable, responsible, and proud of your contribution at work each day. The habits that you build every day at work shape your future everywhere else.
When you bring your best curiosity, energy, and integrity, you make the team stronger, patients are happier, and yourself is more confident. Excellence isn’t about doing more than everybody else. It’s about doing your best because it’s who you choose to be.
So ask yourself each morning, what kind of an employee do I want to be today? Do I want to be the one that just shows up, or do I want to be the one that shines? I hope you’re the one who wants to shine.
