Welcome to another one minute tip from the Virtual Practice Management Institute. Today, we are going to talk about differentiation. Differentiation is what will set you apart from the other doctors down the street. It is how to get other patients to talk about you after their appointment.

One way to differentiate yourself from others is by using the Plus One technique. Train yourself and your staff to add something to everyone's appointment making sure you are giving them what they need, plus one. For example, they come in and ask you to fill out some disability papers but they don't expect it done immediately, so you plus one them. You do it right then and there.

WOW!  A patient walks in with pain without an appointment. You squeeze them in with a smile on your face, and then they feel better. Plus one! You offer a snack and a drink. Plus one! You call them after a surgical procedure. You get the idea, now go out and plus one everyone. Stay focused my friends, until next time.
