Hi, it's Tina and I'm here with your one-minute management tip. A few months ago I did a session in the Virtual Practice Management Institute all about managing individuals and how we set our staff up for success and I'm going to share one of those tips with you today and that's for physician business owners and their management staff to become walk-around managers.
What does that mean? That means that if you're the physician, you need to walk about. You need to check how everyone in the practice is doing. Now, I don't mean all of the time. I mean, checking in with them. If you're walking down the hallway and you see one of your MAs, ask them, how's it going today? Is there anything I can do for you?
Or thank them for something that they did do for you. And the same way with your front office staff. A lot of times I hear front office staff never get to hear from the doctor. Make sure you check in with them and ask them how things are going. Is there anything that they need help with? And that goes for you too, practice managers.
Make sure you check in with your people every single day to see if there's something you can do to help them. You want to show them that you care. You want to show them that you appreciate what they are doing and you want them to excel and be successful, then invest in them and show them that they are worth your time to check in and make sure that they are okay and have everything they need.
If you have any questions or would like more information on the Virtual Practice Management Institute, just email me at [email protected] or Dr. Peter Wishnie at [email protected]. You take care. Bye now.
