Every podiatrist or other professional—in fact, every human being—is subject to periods of frustration, discouragement, and sometimes even mild depression. Life in general can be difficult, and running a professional podiatry practice is not easy. It can feel like the whole world is conspiring against you some days: the government, insurance companies, your competition, your patients, and maybe even your own staff. It’s difficult to maintain a positive focus.
And yet, maintaining that focus is essential. It’s what gets you out of bed and in the office day after day. Without it, you flounder and your practice suffers.
So What Makes Moving Forward and Staying Focused Possible?
The only way we know to keep your focus train on track and moving forward without getting derailed is to stay connected to other like-minded individuals. That means participating in a Mastermind group. This is a business idea that Napoleon Hill put forward in his book Think and Grow Rich and it’s the absolute core of Top Practices. Our successful, driven, and creative doctors from all over North America and Australia join together to share their best ideas. They collaborate, encourage, and challenge each other.
This is the best way to stay positive, focused, and moving forward to meet your goals. You need to keep checking in with, learning from, and teaching other positive professionals in your field. Many people out there can tell you how bad things are in business, particularly for a medical practice. But they will only drag you down. There are only a few people who have earned the right to tell you the good things you should be doing to be successful—and what they’ve done themselves. However, those are the people you want to spend time around.
It is impossible to stay positive when you’re by yourself. There’s way too much out there to get you bogged down. However, when you join together with other people and truly commit to working with them, it’s impossible to not move forward in a positive way.
If you’re looking for this in your practice, check out the Top Practices Mastermind group. We’re always looking for new, driven members. You can look at our application, or you can reach out to us for more information. Just call (717) 725-2679 or e-mail [email protected].
