Hello and welcome to today’s One Minute Management Tip, my name is Tina Del Buono. Today I’m going to talk about performance problems. You know, every job is the responsibility of two people. 1. The employee who is to produce the desired result. And 2. would be the practice manager or the physician business owner who is responsible for creating the environment that that employee works in.

When there is a performance problem, it’s important that the physician business owner and the practice manager take a look at the work environment to see how well it provides the following:

Training – Do you have a good training program? Do you have protocols that your staff can follow in case they forgot how to do something?

2. Do you do job reviews? Does the staff members really understand what they are supposed to do? And do they have a way to check in with someone if they do need help?

3. Training - Yes, continue training. Training is just never done.

4. Support - Like I said if something does happen who do they go to? Will they get the opportunity to get re-trained.

5. Training - Yes continue training. Training is never done like I said. It goes on and on. Physicians go to conferences to continue their training. It’s the same way with staff, they need continued training. Our offices are only as good as the people who work there. And education is the key for them to provide the highest quality patient care.

Well, I hope this tip helps you. If you have any questions just email me at [email protected].
