Hi, it's Tina with Top Practices Practice Management.

You know, a question that we often get asked, is how do we get our staff to pay attention to details? Well, I'm going to tell you a little story. When I was growing up, my mother would go get her hair done every Saturday. And each one of us four children had job tasks assigned to us. And she would train us how to do it and then when she got home she would check to make sure it was done correctly.

And at first, I remember I got to fold clothes, but then I got to graduate to cleaning the bathrooms. And I was really excited about this and she showed me how to do it. And when she would come home, she would check my work. And if it wasn't done right, she would show me what I didn't do and then have me do it so that I can see what her expectation was and I could understand. And eventually, I was able to clean those bathrooms and get a gold star when she came home, which made me feel really great.

Well, it's the same way with our office staff. We need to teach them the tasks and the expectations that we have, so that they can understand. So that they know why they need to pay attention to those details. What it means to the practice, what it means to the practice owner in order for them to really understand why they need to do it a certain way and why it's important to pay attention to the details. And then when they do it, make sure you give them a gold star or something to let them know you really appreciate that they are paying attention to the details and it means a lot to you.

Well, if you have any questions, you can email me at [email protected]. Take care and stay safe. Bye-bye now.
