Hi, it's Tina, and I'm here with your One Minute Management Tip.
I hope you are well and staying safe. You know, these are times that we've never encountered before. And it's real important that we keep the communication open between everyone in the practice, more so now than really ever before because we're all feeling different things as we're experiencing possibly working part-time now, being laid off, or having family members laid off, family members sick. There's so much that can be going on in our own personal lives that will affect how we work, and so we need to be able to talk about it.
Dr. Brené Brown, who has one of the most viewed Ted Talks, I think it's got about 47 million views said this: She said, "In the absence of data, people will make up stories." So that means if someone doesn't know what's going on, they're gonna make up a story about it. They're going to come up with their own reason that it happened or that it's not happening. It could be very far from the truth.
So communication is real important now. Whether you're in the office or not, make sure you're reaching out to the people who are working there or not working in there. Letting them know what's going on. Make sure that you communicate well with your patients. It's so important. Communication is one of my favorite topics, and I think it's because I always thought it was so simple and it really is very complex. And I try and learn as much about it as I can and I try and teach on it often.
