Hi, it's Tina and I'm here with your One Minute Management Tip.

I'm going to talk today about change or about trying to reach goals and the steps that it takes to get there, which equals change. You know, with enough momentum, any type of change is possible, but how do we get our team to have that momentum? Well, there's a few key things that we can do.

First of all, everyone needs to understand the big picture. What is it that we're working towards? Maybe you're working towards increasing your patients every single month. You need to know how many patients do you want to increase each month? And then you need to celebrate the small steps as you're getting closer to reaching that goal. It's just like with children, if we tell them if they're good, you know, in two weeks we're going to take them, you know, to the circus. Two weeks is a long way away for a child.

Well, for us, if we're working towards increasing our patients by let's say a hundred over the next six months, new patients, how are we doing each month and then celebrate that. Keep the communication open between all staff members so that everyone knows how the practice is doing. This way we all feel a part of it. And then you know what? You need to really celebrate when you reach the goal. Because when we celebrate the things that we have worked towards, it makes us more excited to try something else. And also the satisfaction of knowing that we did it as a team together, will keep that momentum going to do something else new in the practice.

Well, I hope I've given you some food for thought, but these steps and I hope that you can keep the momentum going in your practice. If you have any questions, you can just email me at [email protected]. Talk to you soon. Bye.
