Hi, it's Tina and I'm here with your one-minute management tip. Today, we're going to talk about the schedule. Yes, the thing that can either make or break our day. How many patients can we actually see each day on time? Now, that's going to vary from practice to practice depending on how many treatment rooms you have, how many physicians you have, what types of patients you see, and your medicals team, are they trained to the maximum level of things that they can perform according to your state law to assist each patient in the treatment room. So, taking all of those things into consideration, you need to figure out how much time you're going to be seeing patients and then how many different types of patients you can see in that time.
A lot of times we don't do this. We just have blocks on our schedule and we fill them up and that just doesn't work well. There's a great book. It's about 20 years old. It's when I got my first one. It's called The E Myth Physician and in it, Michael Gerber says, one thing that doctors are not good at is estimating time.
How much time it will take for procedures? How much time it will take in the treatment rooms? Well, we need to be able to figure that out and it can be done successfully. There's several different ways to schedule patients and design your schedule to fit your practice so that you can maximize the patients you're seeing and and seeing them on time.
Now, I've got an article called Mastering the Schedule. If you email me at [email protected], I'll be glad to send it to you. Also, if you have any questions regarding your schedule, I am happy to help you try and figure out what is the best schedule for your practice. I hope to hear from you soon.
Take care. Talk to you later. Bye.
