Hi, it's Tina and I'm here with your one-minute management tip. You know, we all want to increase productivity and in order to do this we need to look at two important things.

1. Are the things that matter, the things that move us ahead towards completing a task or achieving a goal, whatever it is. What is it that you need to do to move you ahead?

2. And then look at the filler things. You know, things like picking up your phone, checking email, getting on Facebook, doing tasks that really don't move you ahead and that aren't necessary and are not being productive.

What is the solution then? You look at that filler list. Write things down that you do. I know mine. I look at my email several times a day and what I've had to do is just pick specific times that I will check my email. It has helped me out so much.

So, make that list of filler things and then streamline it. What are things maybe you can even have someone else do? Or things that you can omit altogether. And then you need to stick to it. You need to focus more on the things that matter that move you ahead and quit doing the filler things. It's called creating a new habit. And guess what? This habit will ultimately make you happier.
