Hi, it's Tina, and I'm here with your one-minute management tip. Today, I want to talk to you about a topic that's in my book Truths from the Trenches, it's in chapter six. It's called The Director's Chair. Well, we can perfect the performance in our practice that will change our patients' experiences, but not only that, it will also make our daily work, much more satisfying to us.

There are three areas of effort that you need to focus on in order to make this happen:

One, you need to set the stage. You need to create a great work environment. No one likes to work in an environment that is not healthy and happy.

Number two, you need to have great performers. That means you need to have a great training program, continuing education program, and you need to be able to give recognition to those who are working hard to achieve the goals of the practice every single day.

Number three, the show must go on. What does this mean? Teamwork. Everyone is there to support one another, understanding how what they do affects the others in the practice.

And the ultimate goal is to achieve what is necessary each day in order for the work to get done and for the patients to be happy. Well, now how do you master this director's chair, and who's the director? Well, it could be the business owner, office manager, team leader, anyone who is there that is helping to bring the team together.

What do they need to do? They need to be able to instruct, they need to be able to guide, and they need to be able to inspire.
