Hi, it's Tina. I'm here with your one-minute management tip, and today it's all about training. We know training can be very frustrating. Number one reason: because we know how to do the task, and now we're trying to teach someone who doesn't know how to do it to do it exactly correct, and that takes time.

One thing to realize is that the rule of thumb is that it takes about 30 times the amount of time to do the task, to learn the task.

So let's say the task takes five minutes to do. That means you, 30 times the five minutes, and that equals 150 minutes of training time invested in that person so that they can really learn how to do the task and be able to have you check it off the list that they've done it.

Now, a great book to read regarding procrastination and learning, and how to do it, is a book called Procrastination on Purpose by Rory Vaden.

That's where this 30x rule came from, and he will explain all about why that specific rule applies when training so that we as trainers can understand why somebody doesn't just learn it like that.

Most of the time, that's not gonna happen.

Now, if you have any questions regarding your training program or training timelines, all you have to do is email me at Tina@TopPractices.com.

I look forward to talking to you about your training needs.

You take care. Bye.
