I get this question a lot: “Is Top Practices really right for me?” It's a good question. You don't have the time and money to spend on something that isn't right for you and your podiatry practice. You want to make the best, most well-informed investments you can for something as important as your business. So here is the short version of my best answer: Top Practices is NOT for everybody. It's possible it's not right for you. But only you can be the best judge of that.
All I can do is give you my long answer describing who IS right for Top Practices and let you decide from there.
Who Is Right for Top Practices?
Many different factors shape your practice and its needs, but particularly the size, location, and your years of experience. So how do those things impact membership with Top Practices?
SIZE – The size of your practice doesn't matter. We have multi-doctor, multi-office, multi-million dollar practices, and we have small, solo-doctor, single-office practices for members. Size is not a predictor of success!
LOCATION – It doesn't matter where you're located. You can be in the big city, back in rural communities, on the beach, in the mountains, up north, down south, out east or west, or wherever. We have members all across North America, and even in Australia, and in every kind of community. You can succeed and grow right where you are.
EXPERIENCE – Your years of experience don't matter, either. You could be very new to the field—in your first five years of practice—or you could have been practicing for multiple decades now. Some of our most engaged and successful members are in both of these categories. You're never too new or too old to take your practice to greater heights.
So What Does Matter?
What does matter—what makes the difference—is your mindset, your approach, and your willingness to roll up your sleeves and actually change your practice for the better. That is what determines if Top Practices is right for you. Plenty of people say they want more patients, greater cash flow, and a less stressful practice. Everyone believes that they want this enough to actually make some changes. But in reality, most of us lose interest in growth and development far too quickly. This results in falling back into the old, familiar patterns that lead to the old, familiar, disappointing results.
As it gets more difficult to practice (and it does), those disappointing results just aren't good enough to enable us to live the lives we really want to live.
So Top Practices may be right for you if you are willing to actually make the tough changes and stick with it. It's for you if you are willing to learn a new and effective way to market your practice instead of falling back on what's familiar. It's for you if you're ready to take that next step and invest in your growth and success instead of putting things off until “next year.”
Learning all this is just like learning anything else new. It takes time, it takes investment, and it takes putting strategies, techniques, and programs into place that will allow your practice to grow in double-digits year over year. Most importantly, though, it takes a commitment to sticking with the group and continuing to grow with it.
What to Expect as a Top Practices Member
Many people, after they join the Mastermind group, are shocked at how open their fellow doctors are with sharing detailed strategies and other information. Most people are used to others holding back vital information out of fear of losing their “edge” over their competitors. However, our Mastermind members know that a rising tide floats all boats. The more info we can share about what's working, the more others will share with them. And that is exactly how we conduct ourselves at Top Practices.
I work very hard to make sure learning all the practice-building strategies we use is as easy as possible. I have a whole team prepared to help you get things done with minimum effort, so you can better focus on your patients. Still, change DOES require your effort and your attention. This is not a “magic pill” or “silver bullet” that will transform your practice overnight without you trying. It's not going to work if you're looking for a shortcut or are so fried by the sea of negativity in medicine today that you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
But if you're still excited about practicing podiatry—or at least looking to reclaim that spark—and you're willing to roll up your sleeves and take a risk that everything I've said about our group is true, the this might just be the right place for you. If you're willing to plug in and really learn, then Top Practices might be exactly what you're looking for.
The Top Practices Guarantee
I can guarantee one thing: when you join the Top Practices Mastermind group, there are no minimum contracts or time periods you're committing to, so if you discover it isn't right for you after all, you can leave at any point. I firmly believe you should only be in this group if it is enabling you to solve your business development challenges and is helping you reach your goals. It's only worth your while if it's providing you with the kind of support that makes practicing podiatry enjoyable and enables you to live the kind of life you want to live. If it's not, you are free to leave the group at any time, simply by telling us you want to do so. It's that easy.
But if Top Practices is right for you, you're not going to want to leave. I would know—many of our members have been part of the Mastermind group since it was founded back in January of 2007!
Marketing your practice shouldn't be frustrating and it should never cost more than you make from your efforts. You shouldn't give up your nights and weekends to make ends meet. And you shouldn't feel stressed and overwhelmed every day you go to work. If this is what you want for your practice, then Top Practices might be everything you need.
