The Role of a Doctor/Owner

Hi Docs. Dr. Peter Wishnie here for another One Minute Practice Management Tip.

And today I want you to think of yourself as a contractor. What is the doctor/owner? She's a contractor. Think about a contractor who hires people to fix your house. The contractor hires the electrician, the plumber, the roofer, and so on, and so on. The doctor/owner does see patients, but you are best served by hiring other doctors and ancillary care providers to help treat these patients.

You hire the best office administrator to oversee the daily activities, the best financial team, and a great marketer. Your job is to make sure everyone on your team knows their job. Get your nights and weekends back by being the contractor. And that, by the way, is the name of my course, The Seven Secrets to Getting Your Nights and Weekends Back. If you are a member of VPMI, it is free. If not, go to TopPractices.com/Courses to order it.

It is time to think of yourself as the contractor, not the worker bee. Until next time, stay focused, my friends.
